Towne House Grooming & Pet Supplies opened its doors in 1989 on a quaint side street in Manhattan. The store has operated for twenty two years on the corner of nineteenth street and ninth avenue. Over the last twenty plus years, Towne House and its staff have grown to be more than a business, a neighborhood fixture. Joshua, Elly and our staff consider each of our customers a dear friend and all of our four legged friends, family.
We want you and your pet to feel at home. It is our belief that every pet owner should always be able to enjoy the pleasure of leaving their pet and loved ones with knowledgeable and caring staff. You can be confident that you and your pet will be greeted like an old friend.
Why Towne House?
At Towne House we pride ourselves on providing excellent customer service. After all, we do think of you and your four-legged friend as family. Upon each visit to the salon you will be warmly greeted by a member of the Towne House Staff. When dropping off your pet we will discuss what style groom you would like, medical issues and other important information.
Pets have different personalities just as humans do. At Towne House, we keep in constant contact with obedience trainers, animal behaviorists, veterinarians, and veterinary technicians. These relationships are vital to understanding how to communicate and understand dog behavior.
Style is important to us at Towne House and we are always excited to hear how you would like your cat/dog to look. For dogs, if you are going for a specific look or style it is important to understand that dog grooming is not seasonal. All breeds of dogs require regular grooming every six to eight weeks.
After grooming your pet we can make recommendations regarding repeat visits and the length of time that is required between visits.
Our groomers connect with your pet on a natural and instinctive level. Grooming is a bonding experience that exercises a dog’s trust of humans. This connection is why Towne House Grooming & Pet Supplies is so successful today.
Elly - Partner
Elly has a deep love and respect for all animals. She came to Towne House with an extensive background in non profit and an MA in public policy. Elly is a fantastic animal groomer, her dog grooming skills are sported by lucky dogs all over NYC; also a stellar cat groomer, the Towne House staff has dubbed her the "cat lady."
Joshua - Partner
Joshua has joined the team at Towne House Grooming & Pet Supplies! He is a long time pet lover, that just couldnt take leaving his dogs at home every morning and going to work. Joshua owns two dogs, a Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier and a Giant Schnauzer. He is very active in the world of animal rescue and foster as well as animal behavior/training.
